Do you regularly sneeze, have a stuffy nose, and/or wheeze and don’t know why? Well, you might have allergies to dust, pollen, and/or mold. The good news is that the right foods can help relieve these airborne allergies.
Here is a list of foods that help fight inflammation and therefore help combat those dreaded allergies.
- Fruits high in vitamin C like oranges, strawberries and red grapes help fight inflammation. When congested, eat two servings of the aforementioned fruit. You can also eat these on a daily basis to avoid symptoms.
- Nuts high in Vitamin E like almonds, and hazelnuts. Vitamin E like Vitamin C helps fight inflammation. To prevent symptoms, eat a one-ounce serving daily. Increase that to two servings daily if you have symptoms. Enjoy things like almond or peanut butter.
- Cold water fish high in omega like wild salmon, sardines, and mackerel. Eat at least two servings weekly. Flaxseed and walnuts also help. Eat twelve walnuts and one tablespoon of ground flaxseed daily. It is best to buy whole flaxseed and grind it right before you use it. I like to put it in my yogurt, in smoothies, on a salad or cereal.
- Drink tea whether it be green, black or white. Tea is full of flavonoids that help reduce inflammation. Enjoy one cup daily and increase that to two if you get allergies. Ideally, drink your tea first thing in the morning with lemon and honey for maximum benefits.
If you’re allergic to mold, avoid foods that contain yeast like bread, beer or foods that tend to get moldy like cheese or vinegar and fermented foods like sauerkraut. Avoiding milk and dairy products may also help relieve your symptoms.
If you haven’t already, go get an allergy test done and see what is causing your congestion or other symptoms. It may be dust or mold or be related to your diet. You shouldn’t have to accept allergies as the norm in your life. Do your due diligence. Our interests are best served by ourselves!
One great technique I discovered is called NAET, Nambrudipad Allergy Elimination Technique. It eliminates food and environmental allergies permanently with a combination of acupressure, kinesiology, and herbs and is remarkable. I had an allergy to chicken for years that I got rid of in two treatments. For more information, go to www.naet.com
I hope this helps you get to the bottom of an issue that is often overlooked and help you live and breathe more easily and comfortably.
