Independence, yesterday’s celebration, applies not only to our country but to us as individuals on every level. One of the ideas behind the independence of our country was to provide individuals with the independence to pursue happiness. Can you really be happy if you’re not healthy? I don’t know about you but when I’m not feeling well, I am not a happy camper.
Sofia Ianovskaia, an Ayurveda Wellness Counselor at Ayurvedic Insights, and I were talking this morning about our 4th of July and what that day meant to us. Here is what yesterday meant to Sofia.
“Independence day should have a significance not only for US history, but also for each person. For some it means making important decisions independent of what others would think or say, and for some it is health related.
There are so many people whose health is affected by bad diet, antibiotics, candida, and daily routine. You go to visit someone, everyone is sitting at the table and about 96% of the audience says: can’t eat that, can’t do that, no salt, no spices, no sugar, no cheese, no dairy, no something else, I have to have gluten free, I have an allergy, can’t digest that, take that out. It is no longer fun, people.
Wishing everyone a healthy holiday, independent and free of any illness. Go for WELLNESS!”
I thought this was very interesting because my blog yesterday was about freedom, freedom from toxic chemicals in our cosmetics and personal care products, contributors to our toxicity and many health problems.
What Sofia said is so true. How many people do you know who have an allergy to this, an allergy to that, who can eat this but can’t eat that? Who do you know who has GI issues like gas, bloating, constipation, heartburn…? I just find it amazing how so many people live with these issues and limitations on a daily basis. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be this way.
There is no doubt that we need to take better care of our bodies because when we do, our bodies do a pretty darn good job taking care of us. Do you drink enough water? Do you exercise? Do you smoke? Do you get enough sleep? Are you under a lot of stress? Do you cleanse/detox? Do you eat healthy balanced meals?
Just like a car needs a regular oil change, our bodies need to detox. That is why I am a true believer in cleansing our bodies. We are bombarded with toxins in our environment and in our food and over time, our bodies become toxic.
I have tried many cleanses over the years but none like the one I’m about to start. It’s called Rev Up Your Radiance, Get High on Life Cleanse developed Sharon Otness, health coach extraordinaire. Here are some of the things I already like about it:
- It’s simple – It comes with an 11-day, step-by-step meal plan, a shopping list, and daily tips to help you along the way.
- It has multiple benefits: It will help you tone your body, reduce the toxic load, improve your digestion, uncover hidden food allergies, make weight loss fun and easy, reduce cravings…
- It is based on whole foods – so many cleanses are about fasting, popping pills… I like using clean food to clean me out.
I will have a lot more to share with you about this detox program once I get going and look forward to reporting back soon.
In the meantime, if you’d like more information about this great summer cleanse or to join me on this journey, check out Sharon’s site at http://www.revupyouradiance.com/.
Independence is not only national, it’s personal. Here’s to our independence from disease, allergies and everything that makes our lives less than whole! Remember: Life can be awesome!
Sounds like an interesting cleanse. I’ve never tried one, but probably should. Thanks for giving me a stating place to look.
I’ve done a cleanse before and it worked really well. I think I’ll check out Sharon’s program. Thanks for sharing!
