Be in Harmony with Green
When you think about nature, what color comes to mind? Green, right? Yes it is the most abundant color in nature and on earth. Let’s take a look at what the color green symbolizes and how it affects and benefits us.
Green is the color of spring, renewal and rebirth.
Green is nurturing. It gives us the desire and ability to unconditionally love and nurture ourselves and others.
The color green is associated with harmony, balance, and growth. It balances our energy, on a mental, emotional and physical level.
Green is revitalizing when we’re physically, mentally and/or emotionally overtaxed or exhausted. It renews and restores depleted energy so it’s great to use when you’re exhausted.
It has a calming and soothing effect and acts upon the nervous system. It helps us deal with the stresses of everyday life, giving us that much needed sense of calm, wellbeing and harmony.
Green helps us feel free and refreshed, like a breath of fresh air allowing a free flow of energy and emotions. It gives us hope, openness and anticipation of things to come. It allows to freely and spontaneously make decisions and be open to going into a new direction. It helps us find a new lease on life.
Green relates to the material, business, and financial world. It is the color of abundance and prosperity. It is a great color for people who are possessive and materialistic, those who want and need to own things.
Ever wonder where that expression “green with envy” came from? Well, envy can be the result of a negative reaction to the color green.
It is also a generous, compassionate, sympathetic, and giving color. On the flip side, it is associated with being jealous, inconsiderate, indifferent, envious, greedy, and selfish.
Green symbolizes spontaneity, reliability, dependability, practicality, flexibility, and daringness. It relates to adaptability, giving us the persistence and strength to embark on new paths and not only cope with, but actually welcome change. It allows us to let go!
It loves to belong and contribute to society. Think social worker, counselor, good friend, club member, or helpful neighbor.
On a physical note, some of the problems relating to the heart chakra are: heart diseases, high blood pressure, ulcers, autoimmune diseases like Aids and chronic fatigue syndrome, breast cancer.
Green is the transition color between yellow and emerald: between the ego and the heart – openness to life and others.
While you can reap the benefits of green with your eyes, you can also experience its healing effects through the skin. My favorite way to do this is with Altearah, a range of organic handcrafted products from Provence that combine the therapeutic effects of color and essential oils.
You can pick from either the Green Perfume for more emotional, psychological, and energetic benefits or the Green Body Oil for more physical and energetic balancing.
All you need to do is spray the perfume into your hands 3 times, then breathe deeply in the palm of your hands several times. Do this 3 – 5 times a day.
Use the Green Body Oil all over the entire body to bring freshness, flexibility and feel free and comfortable in all circumstances.
So when life gets a hectic and stressful and you feel the need for balance and harmony, go for green!
Overwhelmed by everything I have to do, I am stressed. I find myself dreaming of a walk in the fields. I long for nature and for a soft breeze to caress my hair refreshing my body and spirit. GREEN, you pacify me. Your freshness gives me hope and inspiration; you lift me. I know that I can easily tackle what lies ahead.”
