We’ve all heard “you are what you eat” but have you heard that what you apply to your skin gets absorbed directly into your bloodstream? Did you know that your cosmetics and personal care products are full of cancer-causing toxins? Well, thank goodness this has become a topic of interest for people around the country who are sick and tired of the lies and deceit of big business and their marketing campaigns. There is no question that we need to pay careful attention to not only what we eat, but everything that we put on our bodies.
People often forget that their skin is their largest organ so it’s especially important to know what toxins to avoid in products we use every day like toothpaste, skin care, lotions, hair care…
If you want to learn about some of the most common toxins found in cosmetics and personal care products, how they affect our health, and what to avoid, I wrote What Toxic Ingredients are in Your Personal Care Products? I am constantly working on improving my health and wanted to share with you some of the research that I did in hopes that it will help you with your health and wellness goals.
Even if you learned just the main ingredients to avoid, you could spare yourself and your family a magnitude of health issues including cancer. If we only used a few products, it wouldn’t be as important. But since we live in an already polluted world, why pollute our bodies even more?
We are blessed to have numerous organizations that are pushing the FDA to regulate and manufacturers to stop using known toxins but all the legal stuff takes times. It’s also very hard to fight the big boys who have such deep pockets. So, what that means is that you hold all the power in your wallet. If you no longer buy lipsticks that contain lead or the lotions with petrochemicals like baby oil, companies will be left no choice but to reformulate their products into cleaner and safer ones.
If you’re ready to take charge and start using quality ingredients and products on your skin and hair, I invite to read my health articled called What Toxic Ingredients are in Your Personal Care Products?.
